Notes from the Vatican:

1947 was the fourth centenary of the death of San Gaetano. On this occasion, the Pope of the time, Pius XII described him as "Apostle of love for God, great example of Christian mercy, and hunter of souls".
The latest about San Gaetano from Vatican City is a message of John Paul II in 1980 to the Theatines on the occasion of the fifth centenary of Gaetano's birth on the feast day of the Saint, the 7th August (Date of his death). Please see chapter 'HERE AND THERE' for full text.
